French Fries
You can’t resist french fries, can you? Unfortunately, they have wrecked many well-intentioned dieters. Try baking your french fries to continue with your weight loss. Slice some potatoes into fries about 1/2″ wide, then put them in a bowl with a tablespoon of oil. Add salt and pepper (and optionally, rosemary), then put them in the oven and bake them at 400 degrees. Use a spatula to loosen them, turn them over and let them bake for approximately 10 minutes. They are good eaten with ketchup and are lower in fat, you will not even think about them being not being fried. These fries are a terrific addition to anyone’s recipe box.
Stop trying to put a stop to your habits that cause you to gain weight, instead, create new habits that will help you lose weight. Positive reinforcement can improve your mood and set you on the right path to lose weight. If it is hard to cut the doughnut shop out of your morning routine then create a new routine, like stopping at a store with fresh fruit. Replacing an existing habit with a new one is easier than breaking the habit altogether.
Losing weight takes more aerobic exercise, instead of weight training. Cardio training is important for burning fat and losing weight, whereas weight training helps to tone and maintain muscle mass. Losing weight is often more effective when you rely on activities that will get your heart rate pumping. Weight lifting is great for building muscle mass, not for weight loss.
Adding whole grains to your diet can help you lose weight. You may wish to consult a dietitian to explore learning about different kinds of whole grains. Or you may choose to conduct your own research, at the library or online. Avoid grain products that are clearly marked as “enriched” or “refined.” When you are shopping look for the whole grain label.
A good way to lose a few pounds is by sucking on ice when you feel like pigging out on junk food. Eating ice can be effective in getting rid of the want to eat because you might just want something in the mouth.

To help yourself lose weight, stop late night food binges. Our metabolism slows down when we are sleeping, which means that foods you eat late at night before bed will mostly be stored as fat. Quit eating late dinners and snacks to lose weight faster.
Develop a workout schedule. When you make an appointment with yourself for exercise, you are far more likely to follow through. Get a time set up where you’re able to get some exercise in and be sure it’s something you stick to.
If you want to lose weight, keep your stress under control. When our bodies are stressed out they tend to hoard onto calories and fat as a defense mechanism. You might realize that the panic will be short-lived, but the body has its own response. Keep stress to a minimum to lose weight.
It is never easy to lose weight, and trying to do so can take up the bulk of your time. However, if you are able to make it through this then you will realize that the rewards are worth what you’re putting yourself through. Keep eating right and exercising to keep the weight off.
